Here is a quick look at a device I made a while ago…

Old tech from new – re-imagining the ropemakerNatural fibre ropes have been constructed in this way for millennia.

In historic shipyards around the world you will find huge rope walks where every type of rope from lashing line to anchor cable were constructed from long fibrous material such as hemp,  sisal and jute.

This rope maker is slightly smaller than that, but it works in exactly the same way.

This is my first prototype. I will post more as I begin working on Mk2.
